Skin by Molly M is a Chico-based skincare studio and product line founded by esthetician Molly Markland, known for personalized treatments and a lifestyle focused approach to clearing and improving skin.
Brief
Molly M Skin needed a cohesive labeling system that emphasized the importance of a multi-step skincare routine while maintaining a consistent and recognizable brand identity. The challenge was to design packaging that unified the product line and guided clients who may be new to multi-step skincare, helping them move through each stage of their routine with clarity and confidence.
Solution
Inspired by the mountain mural in the brand’s esthetician studio, I created a visual system that connects the studio environment to the product identity. Each color in the wavy mountain motif corresponds with the color bar at the bottom of each label, visually linking the design across the line. Lighter tones represent daytime products like Cleansers, while deeper hues signify richer treatments such as Lotions. This gradient system helps clients easily identify where each product fits within their routine.
